Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter from Canada. Her early work can be described as "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4] with influences from hip-hop, electronic, and rock. Her lyrics often touch on feminist and science fiction themes. Five albums have come out. Grimes was raised in Vancouver but later relocated to Montreal. Her first independent career in the latter part of the 2000s. In 2010 she debuted two albums on Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. In 2012, Visions will be her third studio effort. She signed with 4AD. Visions is comprised of the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion", which was selected for nominations to"the" Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. The album that she released as her fourth studio effort Art Angels was released in 2015. The album was praised from the press and critics, while many magazines voted it to be the top album of the year. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Grimes is an official judge of Alter Ego, a music contest. She also was part that of Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
